Life
I'm a medical journalist living in Santa Barbara, Calif., with my husband of 23 years, David, a writer. We have two teenagers, an Australian shepherd, and an opinionated cat. My business requires that a travel a lot, but mostly I like being at home with my family and my garden.

School
After Wasson, I went to a small liberal arts college in Ohio. I loved it there, but also attended CU and SMU for journalism credits. I graduated with a degree in creative writing and education in 1979. I've dabbled in graduate classes in the years since, but I never got my master's.
